Few years ago, I met a bright student who mashaAllah became so passionate about Quran, she started doing her own Quran classes for younger kids.

​At only 12 years old, I knew we would see this girl shine as a great leader. But then I didn't see her for one or two years. Her parents thought, "Our daughter is great. She's strong, she's going to stay this way." They took it for granted.

I wish I could tell you this was a once-off story, but there are too many children getting into pornography, becoming gays, lesbians, smoking, doing all kinds of haram.

The world we live in is like a ring of fire, and our children's Iman is like a block of ice standing inside that fire. Every single day, it is melting.

And if you are not strengthening it, it will completely melt away. When they make a bad friend, that fire comes closer. That melting speeds up, and before you know it, they're gone.

Then parents are left standing asking: What happened? This is not my son, this is not my daughter. What do we do? Where did we go wrong?
