Let me ask you something that’s probably been keeping you up at night…

Being a good role model is NOT enough!

If your child is above 8, you are NO longer the greatest influence in their life.

The power of your influence is sinking everyday..

Now the greatest influence are friends, school

The media that spends billion of dollars to capture their hearts
The "influencers" who are in the "profession" of influencing the heart of your child

No wonder, they don't listen to like they used to..

Your voice is getting drowned in the noise around them.
You have to repeat, repeat, repeat, and repeat and repeat....

There was a time that you were the entire world for your child
and all they wanted to do was please you.

They copied all you did to do so...

That time is over!

Now, the world has opened up for them and they want to please their teachers, their friends, fit in...

The older they grow, the lesser they care about what you are doing, and more about what their friends are doing.

So this advice, every shaykh gives parents "Be a good role model" to be honest, sure its important, you don't want to be a hypocrite... but the truth is its not the solution anymore for the issues you are facing with your children.

Not for the pre teens and teens, and not in this world we live in.
Perhaps the shaykhs give that advice thinking of younger kids and perhaps some are unaware of the challenges parents are facing.

I hear from so many mothers today, who are praying 5 times a day, they even pray tahajud, yet they are struggling to get their kids to pray...

It's not because they are bad mothers, bad role models...
It is because the company their kids have at school, the people they want to fit in with now, dont!

But, it doesn't have to be this way...
This is why the real solution is for parents to regain the influence in their children's lives.

Become the most influential voice in their life.

AND YOU MUST!

Because you are the ONLY voice calling them to Allah, towards good, helping them see good as good and evil as evil.

If the enemy succeeds in completely drowning your voice, the enemy will succeed in killing their emaan, making them see good as evil and evil as good.

As a teacher this is the ONE skill that has helped me in guiding children to create lasting change in themselves. The skill to communicate in a way that influences the hearts of children.
